Some new tasty pike flies for toothy pikes out there. This one has been tied with a bunch of natural materials like ostrich hearl, icelandic sheep, marabou feathers and given a mix of flashabou fibre for some attraction in the water. The trick of this fly is ….. that it catches pike like cheese the mice.
If you Keep the majority of the material, except the marabou at the back of the hook shank the fly will move straight through the water. What is certainly an advantage in very weedy water where flies that brake out and so tangle in the weed. It is for sure not the most lightweight fly to cast but if you take care that you do not tie the fly too much bulky the fly will be easily castable even on a 7 or 8 weight rod.
