The gorge is my gym. A day on the edge
Last Sunday I made it again to the water. It was a terribly hot day, 37 degrees, and I was so glad to have not gone fishing for pike. The gorge of Erlauf Tormäuer it should be. Cut deep into the rock it flows downstream cooling. The ideal place for such a hot day. Twelve thousand meters of pure beauty totally rough untouched. Only a rudimentary trail exists along the stream that allows visitors to explore this gorge.
I started fishing with “the one fly”, A fly that I’m using already the entire summer, continuously. A caddis fly with green body and deer hair wing. It is a fabulously working fly. Easy to tie and excellent in catching fish. Within the first three casts I hooked a first fish. The fish were not the biggest but the majority of fish is bigger than a fly rod handle. The highlight was to look down the narrow point on the half way through the gorge. Big brown and rainbow trouts are rising there with a unbeatable self confidence. Nobody can catch them there and they know that.
It was a stunning day who demanded everything to me. A day that each muscle soreness was worth. I can’t await the next weekend.
